Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team in Irvine, California. This Contract-to-long-term position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute your expertise in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger reconciliation. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial transactions and maintaining organized records. Responsibilities: - Process accounts payable transactions, including gathering invoices, scheduling payments, and verifying receipt of goods and services. - Manage vendor payments through electronic transfers and checks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. - Prepare checks and remittance advices for approval and maintain organized filing of invoices and payment confirmations. - Reconcile accounts payable to the general ledger control account, ensuring consistency and accuracy. - Handle accounts receivable tasks such as posting cash receipts to client sub-ledgers, reviewing remittance advice, and identifying short payments. - Reconcile accounts receivable trial balances with general ledger control accounts. - Conduct credit card reconciliations, obtaining receipts, matching transactions, and preparing journal entries for review. - Maintain general ledger account reconciliations for assigned expense accounts. - Generate weekly labor and expense reports, ensuring all required consultant submissions are received and following up on missing reports. - Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with accounting standards and procedures. Requirements - Proficiency in accounting software systems such as ERP platforms, Concur, ADP, and Ceridian. - Extensive knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions. - Strong auditing and billing skills with attention to detail and accuracy. - Ability to reconcile financial records and ensure alignment between sub-ledgers and control accounts. - Experience with credit card transaction management and journal entry preparation. - Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively. - Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and external clients. - Familiarity with financial reporting tools and labor expense management.
