This classification is subject to Section 5, Hiring-Above-Minimum (HAM) Authorization of the California State Civil Service Pay Scales.
The authorized HAM rate for this classification is $8,024U, $8,617V

This position will be at Headquarters or in one of the in-state field offices: Kern County - Bakersfield Office San Bernadino County - Rancho Cucamonga Office Orange County - Santa Ana Office Los Angeles County - Diamond Bar Office Sacramento County - Elk Grove Headquarters

Do you have a keen professional interest in addiction medicine and substance use treatment? California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) is seeking California-licensed clinical social workers to join our Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDT). This newly-created statewide program is designed to provide integrated, specialized care to patients with a history of substance use who require additional medical assistance. ISUDT staff are committed to providing optimal care, promoting patients’ successful reintegration into society, and reducing recidivism.

Within this program and under the general direction of the Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker I, you will:
Provide screening and assessment for substance use disorders to determine treatment needs and level of care
Develop comprehensive treatment plans
Coordinate with the Primary Care Team to provide quality care
Provide short-term counseling intervention to address client needs surrounding substance use disorders

To thrive in this position, you must be: Knowledgeable in substance use disorder assessment and treatment
Skilled in the area of motivational interviewing
Knowledgeable in the area of trauma-informed care

Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of a valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science. [Individuals who do not qualify for licensure by the California Board of Behavioral Science may be admitted into the examination and may be appointed but must secure a valid license within four years of appointment; however, an individual can be employed only to the extent necessary to be eligible for licensure plus one year. An extension of the waiver may be granted for one additional year based on extenuating circumstances, as provided by Section 1277(e) of the Health and Safety Code. The time duration for unlicensed employment does not apply to active doctoral candidates in social work, social welfare, or social service, until the completion of such training.]
