Golf Course Superintendent
Golf course in Stockton, California is looking for a Golf Course Superintendent.
Position Overview:
Responsible for all activities related to the care and maintenance of the golf course, grounds, and equipment. Plan and implement budgets. Hire, train and supervise staff. Apply agronomic, landscaping, and horticultural principles to ensure that quality standards are consistently achieved and/or exceeded. Maintain a safe, productive work environment and ensure that market position standards are met and the golf course continually improves.
Requirements:
Bachelors’ degree and experience managing a golf course is required.
College or university program certificate strongly preferred.
3-5 years’ turf grass, golf course-related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of years and experience.
CA pesticide applicator’s license.
Active member of GCSAA.
Experience in all phases of golf course management.
Strong budget management and forecasting skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong observational skills and detail-oriented.
Highly organized.
Must be able to operate trucks and motorized equipment necessary for golf course maintenance, and have the ability to work independently.
Requires ability to frequently lift/move up to 50 lbs.
Minimum of 3-5 years of Golf Course supervisory level experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience and capability in the areas of budget development, fiscal management, strategic planning, staff management.
Working knowledge of turf grass maintenance equipment and irrigation systems.
Demonstrated quality written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including nights/weekends.
Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.
Compensation:
$100,000 – $110,000 per year.
