Golf Course Superintendent
Golf course in Midlothian, Virginia is looking for a Golf Course Superintendent.
Position Overview:
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is ready to take the next step in their career at a premier private club with a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. Responsible for leading the day-to-day maintenance and management of our 27-hole golf facility. The position will work collaboratively with a team of Assistant Superintendents, the Grounds Superintendent, and Equipment Technicians to ensure exceptional course conditions and member satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily golf course maintenance and operations across 27 holes and practice facilities.
• Plan and execute cultural practices, moisture management, pest control, and course conditioning.
• Manage and develop staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluation.
• Assist with irrigation operation, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Assist in annual budgeting and capital project planning.
• Coordinate with other departments and serve as a professional representative of the grounds team.
• Communicate effectively with members and attend club and departmental meetings.
Requirements:
This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong agronomic knowledge, attention to detail, and excellent team management skills.
Degree in turf management, agronomy, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience as an assistant superintendent.
Proven success in managing cool- and warm-season turf in the transition zone.
Current pesticide applicator’s license (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
Valid driver’s license.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Compensation:
$75,000 – $80,000 per year.
