Job Summary:
The Healthcare Data Analyst is a critical resource in our efforts to manage health care costs, improve quality, and enhance the experience of both the member and the care team, through sophisticated analysis and communication of health care data. This is a FT WFH position based in Portland, Oregon. 

Pay Range
$64,394.27 - $96,705.18 annually (depending on experience). 
*This role may be classified as hourly (non-exempt) depending on the applicant's location. Actual pay is based on qualifications. Applicants who do not exceed the minimum qualifications will only be eligible for the low end of the pay range.

Primary Functions:

  1. Under direct supervision, performs basic research and analysis of healthcare claims, enrollment, and other related data, to report on network utilization, cost structure, and/or quality.
  2. May combine and manipulate data from multiple sources.
  3. Assists in evaluating, writing, and presenting healthcare utilization and cost containment reports.
  4. Manage a workload of recurring reports, focusing on quality and delivery timeliness.
  5. Identify anomalies and troubleshoots potential problems.  Updates and revises report criteria as appropriate to meet changing business conditions. 
  6. Meet with internal customers to brainstorm what kind of information/report is needed for each situation. 
  7. Think creatively about how to solve a problem or meet a specific business need, given the data available.
  8. Collaborate with the other members of the Analytics team to expand analytical capabilities, methods, and toolkits.
  9. Participate in user groups to share analysis tips and techniques.
  10. Other duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  2. Minimum 2 years’ experience in financial analysis or other data analysis role.  Experience with health care data preferred.
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  4. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  5. Experience with using data analysis and visualization tools such as SAS, SQL, PowerBI, Microsoft Access, Business Objects, Crystal Reports, or other similar applications.
  6. Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  7. Ability to work well under pressure and with constantly shifting priorities.
  8. Ability to project a professional image and maintain complete confidentiality.
