**Instrument Interface Engineer (LIMS)** IT Tuscon, AZ, US Pay Rate Low: 114400 | Pay Rate High: 84400 + Added - 01/04/2025 Apply for Job + Fully Remote + Salary: $80,000-$110,000 + Specifically looking for folks who have instrumentation experience within LIMS systems. _Our client is a global provider of informatics software and expertise to support diagnostic testing across healthcare, life sciences and public health. They are seeking a_ **_Instrument Interface Engineer_** _o join their team!_ **Purpose** As an Instrument Interface Engineer working with the implementation team, you will be responsible for providing expert consultation on the selection, installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of specialized instruments interfacing with client's software solutions. The role involves collaborating with Professional Service Consultants or clients to understand their technical requirements and ensure instruments are configured and operating effectively to meet those needs. **Essential Functions** - Configure instruments and related software to meet the specifications and operational requirements of clients - Work with Professional Service Consultant or the customer to ensure instruments are calibrated to deliver accurate and reliable results for customer - Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation relevant to configuration of instruments - Develop strong client relationships by understanding their needs, addressing their concerns, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction - Performs interface installations utilizing templated configurations to address client requirements for data capture, storage and reporting - Basic understanding of the requirements for applying best practice implementation with client software applications - Ensure that instruments and practices comply with industry regulations and standards (e.g., ISO, FDA, etc.). - Responsible for the organization and prioritization of assigned projects and tasks to meet deliverable requirements - Capable of independently analyzing and resolving complex system problems - Coordinate activities with outside vendors, client resources, and internal departments to ensure on-time delivery - Stay up to date on the latest industry trends and technologies, recommending improvements or upgrades to clients' current systems - Resolve project issues in a timely manner or determine when escalation to senior staff or management is required. - Collaborate with and mentors other Professional Services Consultants to expand own and others depth & breadth of client product knowledge. - Effectively organize and prioritize project tasks to ensure timely completion of projects assigned. - Complete other tasks as assigned. Skills needed to be successful - Ability to work independently and effectively manage project priorities from start to finish - Strong understanding of client/ laboratory workflow concepts relative to software applications with strong knowledge of interfaces - Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to present to all levels of the organization - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Able to provide mentoring and consultation to improve workflow processes and procedures. Required Experience & Education - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, related field, or equivalent relevant work experience - 3+ years' experience in instrumentation technology, calibration techniques, or equipment consulting, preferably with a LIS or LIMS system - 3+ years' experience in programming/data mapping, change management, technical support, and customer service - 3+ years' experience with Azure/Cloud/SaaS environments - Knowledge of PL/SQL and C# - Knowledge of Network Protocols and Communications (TCP/IP, terminal servers, DB9 and DB25 cabling), file sharing, and SFTP - Experience and understanding of API rules and protocols - Experience and understanding of ASTM, HL7 standards and other protocols **Preferred Experience & Education** - Experience working with Rhapsody Interface Engine or knowledge of Mirth, Ensemble, Iguana, or similar interface engines - Working knowledge and setup of third-party LIS or LIMS instrument interface configurations and networking protcols - Understanding of LIS and LIMS environment and testing requirements - Knowledge or experience working with client software applications **Physical Requirements** - Work is performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards.
