Overview The Luau Show Stage Manager will report to the Director of Luau Operations and oversee the hiring, coordination, coaching, supervision, and direction of the Luau Show staff. This role involves managing daily operations, maintaining performance standards, and ensuring the quality of the show. The manager will also be responsible for preserving Hawaiian/Polynesian culture, songs, and dances, and embodying the 'Aloha Spirit' to deliver exceptional guest service. Responsibilities Assist the Director of Luau Operations, F&B Luau Managers, Light & Sound Technicians, performers, and musicians at all times. Oversee daily operations of the Luau Show. Conduct pre-shift and post-shift staff meetings. Record nightly show notes and report discrepancies for improvements. Hire, supervise, train, and manage all Luau Show personnel. Coach, counsel, and administer disciplinary actions as needed. Schedule work shifts for all staff, including emcees, musicians, dancers, and technical staff. Manage Time and Attendance in Dayforce accurately and promptly. Coordinate rehearsals, auditions, and training sessions. Participate in show auditions and production planning. Assign pre- and post-shift duties with Line Captains. Coordinate costume washing and maintenance. Communicate with management about production issues. Maintain inventory and order supplies to prevent outages. Monitor and implement Loss Prevention measures. Ensure costumes and equipment are in good condition and report issues. Prepare and submit reports timely. Track expenses to stay within budget. Handle guest situations with a guest-first approach and resolve complaints promptly. Ensure compliance with liquor laws, health, and sanitation regulations. Ensure staff compliance with hotel policies and procedures. Be present during shows to assist staff as needed. Train staff on SOPs and job tasks. Participate in production meetings and required training. Monitor guest service levels to ensure satisfaction. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Essential Job Requirements Proven managerial or supervisory experience in show production. Extensive knowledge of Hawaiian/Polynesian dance and music. High-level dance skills for performance as needed. Ability to work collaboratively with management and staff. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Proficiency in MS Office applications. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Willingness to learn and perform various roles within the show. Compliance with hotel standards, policies, and confidentiality requirements. General Requirements Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor embodying the Aloha Spirit. Arrive on time, dressed appropriately for the show. Possess extensive knowledge of Hawaiian/Polynesian culture, dance, and songs. Able to give directions, critiques, and adjust performances accordingly. Self-motivated, quick learner, and able to work independently. Maintain personal hygiene and grooming standards. Physical ability to perform dance and technical duties.
