Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Technologist to join our clinical laboratory team on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who is passionate about quality diagnostics and patient care. The selected candidate will work independently and collaboratively on the day shift, every Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
Operate laboratory instruments, equipment, and computer systems in compliance with established procedures.
Analyze, evaluate, and report test results using sound judgment and within the scope of laboratory guidelines.
Participate in quality control activities, instrument maintenance, and laboratory process improvement.
Support the implementation and validation of new laboratory procedures, techniques, or instrumentation.
Contribute to maintaining laboratory inventory, cleanliness, and organization.
Train and mentor new employees or students in laboratory techniques and safety protocols.
Assist in regulatory and quality assurance initiatives including safety, performance improvement, and compliance documentation.
Act as a resource for less experienced staff, sharing knowledge and expertise.
Other duties as assigned to support laboratory operations.
Qualifications:
Education (Required):
OR
Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or
completion of a NAACLS-accredited program recognized by the ASCP Board as qualifying for MLT
Education (Preferred):
Bachelor’s Degree in a related scientific field (with certification/licensure obtained within 6 months of hire)
Certification:
Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
or National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years
clinical laboratory experience with moderate and high complexity testing preferred.
Skills and Attributes:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Commitment to accuracy, safety, and compliance
Competent in use of laboratory information systems (LIS) and related computer applications
