Thestage manager acts as the liaison between the director, technical crew, and cast, facilitating communication and ensuring cohesion throughout the rehearsal and performance processes. Responsibilities will range from creating and maintaining the rehearsal schedule to overseeing the backstage operations during performances, guaranteeing seamless scene transitions and cue execution. Additionally, the stage manager will coordinate with the production team to manage props, costumes, and set pieces. Demonstrates keen organizational skills and ability to adapt swiftly to changing circumstances. Sending out rehearsal reports after each rehearsal to the production team with updates for all appropriate parties. Calling and keeping track of cast breaks during rehearsal. Facilitate communication between the director, technical crew, and cast members. Oversee backstage operations during performances, ensuring smooth scene transitions and cue execution. Manage props, costumes, and set pieces, including their organization, maintenance, and placement. Conduct pre-show checks to ensure all technical aspects are in working order. Lead and manage the backstage crew, providing guidance and support as needed. Act as a point of contact for cast and crew members, addressing concerns and resolving conflicts in collaboration with Visual and Performing Arts Manager . Maintain a safe and organized backstage environment, adhering to all safety protocols. Attend production meetings and rehearsals, providing input and assistance as necessary. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to the production process. Performs related duties as assigned. Qualifications Degree from a four year college or university in Direction or a similar field; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the above knowledge, ability and skills. Skills & Abilities Strong organizational skills Strong communication skills Time management Knowledge Experience working with people of all ages, especially youth. 1 to 3 years of experience working in a technical capacity on theatrical productions. Basic knowledge of how each department of a production operates (costuming, set, props, lighting, and sound) Basic first aid and safety procedures and standards.
